A Studio Dwelling That Is Unapologetically Simple – Ep 2

The Studio Dwelling is where Sri Lankan architect Palinda Kannangara lives and works. Taking inspiration from Buddhism, his style is unapologetically simple. He believes in adding value to the design scheme by using less!

The conscious use of concrete as a core material of construction and also used in the interiors of this dwelling showcases how concrete (if used sensibly) can be a material of choice even in hot tropical climates.

Palinda Kannangara was awarded the 2018 RIBA International Prize for this dwelling which exemplifies design excellence and delivers meaningful social impact.
