The Muziris Heritage Project initiative, led by architect Benny Kuriakose, is an ambitious effort aimed at revitalising and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the ancient port town of Muziris, its an area located just south of Kochi.

Benny Kuriakose and his team have brought Muziris' historical monuments and artifacts to life through meticulous research and painstaking effort, while also developing a sustainable tourism model that benefits the local communities.

It is a project that has been in the works for more than a decade and is India’s largest conservation project. It aims to restore the region's magnificent and historically significant architecture - including India's oldest mosque and synagogue - as well as a plethora of exceptional buildings.

The idea of "second living" stems from man's quest for harmony between the urban and rural worlds, as well as between work and personal life.

The Stone Lodges in Wayanad, Kerala, were created by architect George Ramapuram of @earthitects in response to the changes in lifestyle brought about by today's work culture. He saw the need for balance and a yearning for man to re-connect with nature.

The Stone Lodge is positioned on three different levels. The expansive home is located on the first and second levels, while the deck with the infinity pool and lily ponds is located on the third.

Each block of this dwelling is built to provide an unimpeded view of the forest. It is designed "around nature, rather than on it," with natural features like trees and boulders playing an important role in this meticulously planned living environment.

A live green wall system with integrated concrete planters takes centre stage in the house's architecture as a response to the surroundings and the site's orientation toward the south. Concrete is used with the intention of blending in with the greenery over time to create a unified concept.

@aura_design_construct offers a contemporary structure that is a representation of a "natural" brise soleil; they create a building with lots of openings that are filled with vegetation to reduce heat gain and with openness as a key planning ingredient to aid cross-ventilation throughout the program.
