Brick Architecture

A staggered arrangement of thin angular windows delivers on the performative function of aiding cross ventilation while a perforated concrete screen of varying intensity stitches the two tower blocks together.

Created by Prasanna Morey and his team at PMA Madhushala the screen of this residential complex acts as a thermal and acoustic barrier while also creating a distinct identity for the project.

Clever interventions like the use of 50mm thick ferro-cement for the internal walls (to increase usable floor area) and an inconspicuous clubhouse placed under a roof garden further enhance the character of the project.

The architect has used brick in varying formats and bond types which intermingles with water bodies and vegetation in the clubhouse. It creates a sanctuary like space the residents can escape to in their own backyard.
