Amalgamating two apartments is always a challenge since it is very easy to create negative spaces in such a situation. However, in this Mumbai apartment designed by Design Basics, it has become a boon and two flats have naturally come together to form an appealing whole.
Designer duo Rohit Ghuste and Dipali Ghuste were given the brief that the style of the home is to be straight lined and contemporary. Clean cuts therefore predominate and touches of elegance and minimalism aid the contemporary feel. The public areas of the house are clearly defined. The dining and bar area lead into the seating area highlighted by the ‘C’ shaped beige sofa, which leads to the study. All these areas flow into one another seamlessly.
Simplicity that spells elegance is the key highlight of this space. The varied artefacts and frames chosen to accent the house also uplift its ambience.
