Designed by Maki and Associates (Japan) along with Opolis (India), the Bihar Museum in Patna sets a new benchmark for an Indian government building made in modern times.
Planned as a composition of several smaller structures, the large building sets in motion a sequence of built spaces and open courtyards to allow for a varied experience and changing environments as you engage with the museum.
The Bihar Museum was an outcome of a worldwide competition won jointly by Maki and Associates (Japan) along with Opolis (India). The museum building has today become one of Patna’s biggest tourist attractions.
