This year’s architecture biennale was even more special owing to the involvement of the Vatican who commissioned a series of chapels. The brief to each of the ten architects was to create places of shelter designed for orientation, encounter, mediation and salutation - free from the attachments of specific religions or religious sites.
The result was an exceptional showcase of multi-faceted structures that displayed incredible imagination.

The 16th International Architecture Exhibition, runs from May 26th to November 25th 2018 in different venues in Venice.
