This Dahanu farmhouse designed by SM Studio stands out on the strength of the simple, clear-cut design philosophies that have been exercised to build it. The house is located amidst an existing chikoo farm. The fruit trees make for an idyllic setting for the home and the team at SM Studio was keen on incorporating the surrounds as much as possible and making them a part of the architecture of the house. The team sought to give the farmhouse a more contemporary appearance with minimal modifications.
Architect Meghna Shetty and her team wanted to bring the outside in and the inside out in an as seamless and natural way as possible. One of the features of the house which achieves this design objective effortlessly is the plunge pool which has been accommodated on the raised plinth. The pool partially encircles the master bedroom and even enters the master bathroom to fill the tub area.
