A sleek and uncluttered private residence in Gujarat stakes its claim to regal living with simple yet effective ideas. Designers Devang Patel, Pratik Siddhpura and Shruti Siddhpura hoped to maintain a clear distinction between common, open spaces and closed, private ones. This soon becomes evident in their choice of palettes for different areas of the duplex bungalow. The living and dining rooms maintain neutral and formal aesthetics while the bedrooms exude individuality and character. In the living room, an entire wall clad in veneer takes on the role of a gallery, exhibiting equestrian-related photographs from the client’s personal collection. To work up a cosy atmosphere, LED lights were installed and the diffused lighting helped create a great ambience. Beautiful marble flooring and floor-length drapes further bequeath this space with a formal and dressy feel. Inside the ground-floor bathroom, patterned tiles liven up the space and counterbalance the extensive use of marble across the house. P&D Associates opted for a design aesthetic that requires minimal furniture and steers clear of loud and attention-seeking features.
