Designed by _ Opolis Architects, this residence in Bhavnagar was intended to be a contemporary house with a spacious and open feel to it. Since the client’s family has an active social life, a segregation of public and private spaces was keenly sought. This idea resulted in the house being divided into three zones: the formal with the living and entertainment areas, the semi-private kitchen and dining space, and the private part of the house with the bedrooms and family room.
Designer duo Rahul Gore and Sonal Sancheti were asked to incorporate the trees into the design of the home. Courtyards, three water bodies and light wells were all worked around the mature and young trees in the property.
The uncluttered and simple architecture of this residence is reflected in the décor, with clean lined furniture and uncomplicated accessories that bring a Zen-like atmosphere to every corner of this nature adoptive home.
