The visually striking work of Khosla Associates reinterprets spatial concepts using a contemporary minimal style. two residential projects in Bangalore, both of which were designed by Sandeep Khosla along with his associates Anshul Chodha and Amaresh Anand. The requirement by the clients for the house at Koramangala was a “clear lung space which would serve as the main interaction space for the family as well as guests” resulted in the architects designing the house as an L shaped configuration opening into the more private south east corner of the site, located in the quiet leafy residential layout of Koramangala in Bangalore. Translating the need of the London based client for a large contemporary house with an Indian essence in Bangalore, Khosla Associates have designed the Manwaring residence exploring the vernacular concept of courtyards and semi enclosed spaces using a very contemporary expression. Built on a one acre site facing a lake and paddy fields, the architects oriented this large seven bed roomed house along the north south axis.
