The immaculate white palette and a minimalist design approach dominate this stylish apartment designed by Mumbai-based designer Tejal Mathur of Tejal Mathur Design. This 1,000 sq. ft., 2-bedroom apartment came with a client mandate to make it bright and open - a brief which Tejal has taken seriously, by breaking open the wall between the living room and the kitchen, resulting in a pleasing expanse and an open kitchen plan. Spaces are joined and separated in multifunctional configurations. The feel of the entire space is airy, with as little enclosure as possible while being subtle, restrained, serene and discreetly contemporary. Tejal Mathur has used a white shell with chrome and dollops of colour in selected places, which transform the space and give it a slick feel - the bright orange accents rescue it from the clinical feel of stark white.
