Creating dreamy, ethereal spaces need a bit of ingenious thinking and a whole load of creativity, as this Mumbai apartment designed by Shabnam Gupta reveals. She has used colours like aquamarine blue, simple materials like sea shells and concepts like mood lighting in the form of huge fibre bulbs, to achieve the wistful look. Glance through the apartment carefully, and suddenly you will see sea shells coming out of the wall. It’s simply Plaster of Paris set in sea shell moulds, but it gives the space the dreamy look the couple desired. All the window grillsthrough the house have little pieces of coloured glass embedded in the design.
