A royal house in a foreign setting, the Kathrani Villa feels like a little Rajasthan amidst the suave Texas state.
“The more I saw foreign countries, the more I loved my own.” - De Delloy
The joy of growing old in one’s own country, living in one’s own ancestral house, is truly priceless, isn't it!
Rendering the Kathrani family’s dream to reality, Cetati has built a Rajasthani styled haveli at Houston, Texas. A stroll around the villa will take you back into nostalgia through the lanes of a palatial haveli you must have seen on your Rajasthan trip.
With principal designers Kiran Sonpal and Ketan Bhimani, the Villa was completely planned and designed in India, and constructed from scratch in Houston, Texas. To keep the Villa as native as possible, the materials used in the construction were shipped from India, with detailed instructions and blueprints so that they could be assembled by the staff at Texas. Owing to such efforts, this villa has turned out to be their most successful remote design experiment.
Sandstone, pink marble, and wood enhances the look of the facade of the single-storey villa making it resemble a traditional haveli. The ground-level plan includes three guest bedrooms, one master bedroom, a formal living room with dining area, a family room and study, and a kitchen. It also has a courtyard with a pond and fountain, an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue pit, a lake and a vegetable garden.
The first level plan has one master bedroom, a home theatre and two sit outs.
