The Sedgemoore, built between 1905 and 1912 falls within the vernacular mould of the “Neilghery (Nilgiri) buildings.” The original house was restored by the architect Sharukh Mistry retaining some of the roofs, doors and windows. Spaces were reorganized and the focus was to introduce more light into the existing dim lit interior of the house. An outdoor connection was constantly harmonized with internal areas. Metal work painted green and ochre, and the sky light add brightness and colour to the house.
