Architect Ashutosh Wad has experimented with stark , austere and uncomplicated forms to create two living spaces that are almost monastic and ascetic in their feel and look. The first residence, all of 1300 square feet, belongs to Mumbai-based developer Narendra Karia. Wad was handed over the apartment with just the four outer walls. He has planned it as a rectangular volume space with a strong emphasis on continuity of horizontal and vertical lines, which turn at right angles. The second home, belonging to Bharat and P H Soni, is much smaller, about 700 square feet. A lot of walls have been knocked down and the whole house has been opened up.
