Ashutosh Wad and Manjunath Hathwar of Space Dynamix design a contemporary Mumbai residence that conveys the impression of more in less. A visual impression of space has been created aesthetically as the areas seem to merge into each other seamlessly. This is achieved by knocking down some walls, using one material for the flooring, keeping the ceilings as high as possible and furniture aligned to the wall. The colour scheme of the residence has been kept neutral except for the son’s bedroom where one sees the use of bold colours. The living area is characterised with the French windows through the entire length of the area which not only enhances the idea of space but also lets the natural light filter in through the day. The interesting feature of the design here is that although there is an impression of open spaces yet the spaces are created in such a way that there is the required amount of privacy as well.
