The Nikhil Patel Penthouse in Baroda, Gujarat, is a marvel realised in beige Italian marble. Flushed with sunlight and natural air, this project is an exemplary luxury home design specimen created by Dipen Gada & Associates.
This beauteous penthouse is located in Baroda, Gujarat, and is spread across the 9th and 10th floors. But really, once you step in, you will almost subconsciously leave all these details behind. Because this residence of Nikhil Patel is so flushed with brilliant sunlight, natural air, and that uniquely elegant effects of deeply-textured, seamlessly placed beige Italian marble flooring that you will be forgiven the impulse to glide and float across the rooms.
And room there is plenty of here. This lavish abode stretches across an area of 12,000 sq. ft., and Dipen Gada & Associates has made all accommodations of a clutter-free zone where the residents can breathe deeply, relax, and be shielded from Rajkot’s heat and bustle.
An impressively spacious foyer with a roof terrace at its footsteps is the entry point here. The travertine-finished backdrop wall of the living area increases the richness of the space. This double volume foyer is the node of the penthouse. The 180° panoramic views of the east from the terrace can make viewers believe themselves to be the monarchs of all they survey, especially so during early mornings.
The furnishings and accessories in the living area are red and grey against all the beige, with a custom-made swing at the centre. The private balcony along this space lets in cool breeze and relieves the trapped heat of the region’s extreme summers. This side of the floor includes 2 guest bedrooms, accompanied by a private balcony, a lavish dresser, and a bathing area.
At the other end of the home sit an indoor as well as an outdoor dining area, along with the kitchen and its service spaces. Subtle herringbone design adorns the bison panel in these outdoors. Randomly-arranged light fixtures on this panel create a fun mood when the sun is down.
In keeping with the theme, the fully-equipped modular kitchen is an open and breathy zone, with exceptional natural ventilation support for all the Indian-style cooking. The adjoining area holds the Puja Room and the parents’ bedroom. A serene beige-walnut palette dominates the interiors here. “An effort has been made to include a comfortable setting for the elders of the family,” adds Dipen Gada.
A lovely, broad staircase leads up to the first-floor passage, where a collection of family photos form a gallery wall of sorts. This leads to a luxurious master suite which includes a splendid sitting space with a study area, a separate bedroom, a giant dresser and a fantasy bathroom. Walnut and shades of pink pop up here to stand out in the beige environment.
A huge private balcony creates a warm ambience with its stone-floor garden, planters, and a traditional gazebo. A delightful splash of colours shifts the mood on the other side, where the home-theatre and the kids’ bedroom are.
“The marble flooring, customised furniture and tailored upholstery celebrates the beauty and craftsmanship of the house,” sums up Dipen Gada.
