Z Z Architects, led by Zubin and Krupa Zainuddin, highlight spaciousness as the sole mantra in an ubër luxurious flat in the heart of Mumbai. The overall thematic is conceived to be a few notches ahead of the regular eclectic fare: in the sense that the unconventional is adapted to, but in a subtle deviation that sparks mixed interest, rather than grab the eyeballs. Such simulations are seen in the emphasis on the large living room, where large run-on sofas adorn the periphery of the room instead of the regular three seaters; or the high-backed floor settee in the entertainment room that is mid-way between being conventionally Indian and eclectically modern. In the same vein, spaces are interlinked by sheer continuity in design elements; yet demarcated by obvious function. Openness of space and an unyielding, bold, straight-lined look predominates. Wood and stone are two materials that seem to influence the overall décor. While colours are pliable and subdued, the relevance of using complementary wall papers and fabrics like silk adds a touch of recherché togetherness to the milieu.
