Bangalore-based architects, Nisha Mathew-Ghosh and Soumitro Ghosh’s work take into account not just the purpose of the building, but even the kind of people who inhabit it. Their projects respond both to the physical as well as the cultural context. This church primarily presents itself as a self-contained form, with a facade that seems to reconstruct the cuboid form. The architects have lifted the religious sanctuary higher than the street level, to allow for a complete opening of the lower space.
