The demands of an industrial building are cut and dried, focused on functionality, but a winery asks for segmented spaces of different needs and make, as well as a thread to join them all. In this mix, Sunil Patil and his team added their signature sustainable features, and positioned a strong beam on timelessness and economy of construction. The landscaping of the Fratelli Wines project had to be a critical microclimate element as well as a visual attraction. The basement excavation resulted in the soil that became ‘the mound’ here, providing natural ground cooling for the RCC-framed admin block, as well as making the drive in beautiful. The guest houses feature green roofs, and all around, only indigenous trees have been planted. The spacious and tasteful guest house rooms are colour-coded and feature Kota flooring and minimal, ready-made furniture pieces. The floor of the tank hall, home to the metallic giants that hold the wines through their different stages of existence, is done up in concrete trimix. Sunil Patil and Associates realised this project in 3 months, which makes the verdant swathe of the Fratelli Wines enterprise even more spectacular.
