A Dream Crystal Clear

Every designer dreams, at least once in his lifetime, to make something pristine and clear; and the colour ‘white’ hardly stays away when we talk about such ideas. Moreover, clarity and its expressions are more easily imagined than portrayed in as tangible a form as walls, bound by the limitations of an enclosed space. We can see a similar attempt, boldly made, by Nainesh Jain at Sim Diam’s Mumbai office. When most of the offices are trying to break away from formality and conventionality of workspace, it is quite an achievement to come up with a design that fits into the requirements. White walls, white furniture and white flooring give us the sense of magnificence and stark openness. The elements of black and yellow at places break the singularity and give us the much needed visual balance as well as something the eye can hold on to and linger around and make the references with. The office represents a gentle flexibility and a firmness of purpose all served on an elegant platter, well garnished and perfectly flavoured.
