Samira Rathod Design Associates bring music to the humdrum daily tasks in this office designed on the lines of a music studio. The abundant use of wood sets the tone for the music studio concept. Chief architect and designer Samira Rathod’s thought behind wood extensively throughout the office was to think of it as the background score. The use of a single material ensures that the beat is maintained throughout the space. Tessellated planes of commercial plywood cover almost the entire ceiling of the office. The purposeful asymmetry in their layout is reminiscent of the technique used in music studio ceilings to help absorb the sound created. Fins stand in place of walls to separate the cabins from the common areas and passages. They deflect sound and provide privacy when required. The office also boasts of some interesting light fixtures, designed specifically to go with the music based theme.
