When architect R. L. Narrayan was involved with the concept of 5 Spice, a Chinese eatery in Mumbai, he was instrumental in chiselling the ambience to sport a contemporary look and feel without taking away from the Oriental roots that the bistro epitomises. The Bandra restaurant depicts a serenity and relaxed ambience engulfed in soft mood lighting with pendulum lights and wall-washes.
A large transparent glass frontage was decided upon by R.L. Narrayan & Associates to open up the restaurant to public impression. Secondly, being the first large branch, the Oriental flavour was introduced with authentic East Asian artefacts and the proverbial red colour as décor highlights.
