Monsoon Salon, Gurgaon, is inspired by the rains, its colours, material tenor, and lighting aimed at conjuring up the best feelings of the season.
Contrary to the design of Monsoon-Rajouri Garden, where the interiors are dotted with splashes of colour, red juxtaposed with eclectic design elements popping out as a scene abuzz with life, the ideation for Monsoon Ambience focused on bare essentials. “We discarded the fuss, and came out with a more abstract outlook, one that still exemplified the brand’s identity,” states the design team.
The concept was born out of the idea of the post-monsoon effect, one that follows a course of scorching summer heat. The selection of materials was kept true to its purest tone and form.
Red corporate colour of the monsoon is averted and a fairly clean and neutral colour palette has been introduced in the interiors. Extensive use of wooden planks and exposed brick walls with controlled lighting plunges relax the senses, serving as a sanctuary to pamper one outright.
Back-to-back in-lit mirrors, where artificial light is evenly washed to brighten up the atmosphere, divides the space yet keeps it open and aglow.
