This restobar in Mumbai is donning a new avatar that combines more pizzaz and delectable food.
The Sassy Spoon, Bandra, is back with a lot more sass. Brainchild of the dynamic duo Rachel Goenka and Irfan Pabaney, the restaurant’s philosophy has always been delicious food peppered with sass.
In its new avatar, the restaurant imbibes a more youthful spirit with its warm and chic bar centric ambience. The design intent is to blend the essence of a contemporary restobar with a sprinkling of the original Sassy. The place has been designed by The Orange Lane.
A fresh colour palette of vintage pink with floral artwork has been introduced on the walls, along with a spectrum of pink ombre on the rope ceiling in the outdoor patio. The play of eye-catching furniture, detailed with accents of pink along with brass edged marble tables and a layer of laser cut lattice work on the window panes, add to the fresh appeal of the place.
Taking inspiration from the Parisians countryside, the striking new back bar of wooden French armoires painted in antique grey and mint blue gives the place a new feel. The existing printed floor tiles were retained for the entire space
“We added a spectrum of pink shades on the rope ceiling in patio. A fresh colour palette of distressed pink with floral artwork was introduced on the walls,” Shabnam Gupta, principal designer of The Orange Lane, says.
Eye-catching furniture details such as pink dipped legs for chairs, distinct pink planks inserted in wooden table tops, brass edged marble tables.
A layer of laser cut lattice work has been done on the existing glass. S walk-in area for Sassy Teaspoon has been introduced at the entrance. Addition of landscape has been done to enhance the garden feel of the patio.
The design envisioned for the space is an amalgamation of European meets quirky. Inspired by street side French cafes/bistros, Sassy Spoon has a welcoming, homely vibe. It is perfect for an all-day dining, coupled with fun design elements, quirky lighting, classy furniture and shades of pastel that ties the place together in a poetic way.
